MITI Booklet
translation a powerful tool cross-culturally
|
Do you know a missionary, neighbor,
friend or relative who could use the
Moms In Touch Booklet in another
language?
 |
Sniffling escalated to
crying during the first Moms In Touch prayer hour
Paula Dinkins led in Thailand.
"What's wrong?" she asked after they had
finished praying through the four steps, using a
Thai translation of the Moms In Touch International
Booklet. One mom explained, "We'e all from a
Buddhist background. Buddhists don't pray out loud.
We've never heard anyone pray a blessing for our
children."
"That's really powerful," said Paula, who led
her first Thai group in 1999 as a missionary with
Overseas Missionary Fellowship.
"Women everywhere are burdened for their
children," continued Paula, who still uses the
booklet translations even though she's now living in
Pasadena, California. "It is important to remember
this is not just another Western idea being
presented: We pray God's Word, and that's
transferable to any culture. The Holy Spirit is
drawing women to Himself through prayer and through
this little booklet."
God is at work cross-culturally in the United
States, as well. "I was speaking at a Thai church in
California and sharing my burden that we must pray
for our kids," Paula shared. "A woman started
crying. She said, 'I'd love to know that kind of
God.' I had a copy of the MITI Booklet in Thai and
said 'Read this. It will really encourage you to get
to know this God.' My friend said that the next week
in church the woman stood up and gave her testimony
that she had asked Jesus into her life. God had used
the MITI Booklet to bring her to salvation!"
The
MITI
Booklet has been
translated into 38 different languages and versions.
The following translations are available online at
MomsInTouch.org (click Shopping): Amharic,
Arabic, Braille, Chinese, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish,
French, German, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian,

Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish and Tamil. We

Finnish, Japanese and Russian booklets. Our Thai
Booklet will be in stock soon.

Help Moms In Touch
stay in touch
We speak to women every day who pray
in a Moms In Touch group, some even
lead a group, but they are not
registered with us as a MITI mom. We
estimate that at least 175,000 women
pray in MITI groups around the
globe. But that's just an estimate.
Our database lists only 65,000
women.
As we look forward to our 25th
anniversary celebration in the fall
of 2009, we would love to know how
many MITI moms are really out there
praying for their children and
schools. If you know a MITI mom or a
group that does not receive this

register online at MomsInTouch.org,

As we celebrate this month of love, we rejoice
knowing that nothing can
separate us from the
love of God. God's Word is the ultimate love
story.
In her book
Prayers From a Mom's Heart,
Fern Nichols, President and Founder of Moms In
Touch International, writes, "My prayer for you,
dear mom, is that you will know the joy of an
intimate relationship with your Heavenly Father
through prayer. He longs for you to talk to
Him." She shares four prayers that we can pray
because of God's immense,
unbounded love
for us. |
|
Praise |
"Heavenly Father, I praise you that you are a
God who is love. There is no love
so gracious and measureless as the sacrificial
love that you showed in sending your Son to die
for the sins of the whole world. Though I will
never fully understand that kind of selfless
love, my heart rejoices and I will be forever
grateful."
|
Confession |
|
"Dear Father, I ask you to forgive me for the
times I have doubted your love. Please forgive
me when I withhold your love from others and
wound their spirits. I am so sorry. Thank you
for forgiving me." |
|
Thanksgiving |
|
"Thank you for your unchanging love that knows
no boundaries. I am grateful that you are always
reaching out with your saving love." |
|
Intercession |
|
"Lord, I ask that my child will experience
your unconditional love and realize that he is a
sinner and needs a Savior. I pray he will know
how deep and wide, how strong and enduring is
your personal love for him. May he know complete
forgiveness, that there is nothing he could ever
do that would take your love from him. May he
find his greatest joy and fulfillment in your
love."

Building MITI
Friendships
MITI moms grow to know
and love one another
through our time of
focused, heartfelt
prayer on behalf of our
children and schools. In
our recent survey, moms
expressed an interest in
cultivating
relationships outside
the Moms In Touch hour.
Our prayer time is to
remain focused 100
percent on Praise,
Confession, Thanksgiving
and Intercession;
however, some groups
deepen their friendships
by occasionally meeting
for coffee or lunch
after prayer. |

Lives will be changed forever at the
upcoming Paradise
event.
Paradise is a journey to awaken
students to the supremacy of God's Son
and to inspire them to bravely join Him
in accelerating His kingdom purposes for
this generation, converging in a
national worship gathering on May 25,
2008, convened at the geographic
center of the nation: Paradise, Kansas.
Fern Nichols is thrilled to be a part of this event
that will draw together a huge cross
section of the generation that we lift
up in prayer every week. She invites
other MITI moms to join her in prayer
for Paradise. Ask God to send
students in droves, and pray that He
will capture their hearts and their
lives forever for His mighty kingdom
purposes for them.
Moms In Touch also has the unique opportunity to
participate in Paradise. MITI
moms are invited to be onsite prayer
warriors for the students, standing at
the perimeter of the gatherings, praying
silently for
all the students and being
available to pray with students as they
desire.
Help get the word out!
Do you know a teenager or young adult
who should attend this event? They can
register online at
www.Paradise08.com. This could be
the pivotal event of their lives.

Happy New Year!
As we embark on another new year, we look
forward with anticipation and expectation to all
the Lord will do through the prayers of moms,
just like you, praying around the world for
their children and schools.
While we say goodbye to 2007, we encourage you
to set aside time with the Lord to reflect on
all He has done for you over the past year. As
Fern Nichols, founder and president of Moms In
Touch, wrote in Every Child Needs a Praying
Mom:
"Sometimes I'll
pull down from the shelf my old prayer journals,
and while I'm reading the answers to prayer,
I'll become thankful all over again. In those
times when we aren't seeing answers, we can find
comfort and encouragement as we go back to our
journals and rehearse all the previous answers
to prayer."
As we start another year, consider setting new
goals for your Moms In Touch group. Is there
someone you can invite to pray with you? Do you
know a mom whose child is struggling in school,
yet she's not connected with a Moms In Touch
group? Help her find or start one. If she isn't
able to locate another mom from her school, let
her pray with your group until God raises up a
prayer partner for her.

Thank You!
a
We have been so blessed by the outpouring of
year-end gifts for our ministry. We are humbled
and grateful that God has given us a
strong beginning toward our 2008 expenses with
donations that have exceeded the $110,000

more, thus
allowing us to continue our mission to cover
more children and schools in prayer.
Fern
Nichols, president and founder of Moms In Touch,
says: "Our
watch word for 2008 is
Isaiah 43:18,19:
Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past,
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not
perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert
and streams in
the wasteland.
"What incredible joy and encouragement it gives us to know
that you are on this journey with us. May God
bless you with His goodness and favor."
